We’re here to collaborate with Communities and Corporations to build innovative strategies for mine planning, activity, closure, and transition to preserve and promote local ecologies.
At Mining Impact Specialists, we work with Indigenous communities to develop comprehensive and values-driven land management strategies to support both communities and ecologies for years to come. We also work with forward-thinking resource extraction companies to imagine better futures through careful consideration of Environmental, Social, and Governmental (ESG) factors.
We work with natural resource project partners to build better relationships with one another and take collective responsibility for the values that drive each project and the economic value that results from it. We use the word “collaboration” in place of “engagement” in our work, and use “stakeholder” in place of “project partner” to indicate the reciprocal relationships we believe are necessary for the survival of global ecologies and economies.
Our company is founded on deep values of wisdom, curiosity, and accountability. We take very seriously the synthesis of information to comprehensively understand each project. Whether we’re working to ensure corporate ESG values are present in mine planning, working with a community and a corporation to build a solid collaborative long-term relationship, or understanding Indigenous values and success metrics for their practical application, we’re searching for the broadest range of possibility, the deepest connection, and the brightest future for all involved.
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive, clear, and actionable mining strategy toward the best possible financial, social, and ecological outcomes. Our holistic dam safety assessment and mine closure strategy help investors, mining companies, regulators, and community members understand both risk and opportunity. We commit to the satisfaction of regulatory and industry requirements, as well as ensuring our partner corporations are working toward GISTM and ICMM standard alignment.
We work with all parties to understand each project from prospecting to land release, and ensure responsible land use from one beginning through to the next.
Trust and understanding are the foundation of respectful collaboration. Common understanding and values alignment lead to innovative project strategy that supports the long-term goals of all project partners.
We work to ensure a collective understanding and set of articulated priorities for each project. We then support industry-community partnerships to develop new ways of achieving the best possible project outcomes. We work collectively on policy and process, to imagine better futures for ecologies throughout B.C.
Through values-driven Land Use, Management and Transition Strategy, Indigenous communities can hold industry accountable on the lands they steward.
We collaborate to identify when, what, and how critical Traditional knowledge information must be shared to both build trust and invite critical feedback to deepen corporate understanding of desired collaboration partners.
We support Indigenous communities to equally collaborate on project strategy, and “engagement” process to allow for the fullest range of possibilities, data accountability, and transparency within mine operations from exploration to transition.
