Based in Vancouver, BC, Mining Impact Specialists Ltd. works with corporations and Indigenous communities worldwide on project and land transition planning that takes environmental and social responsibilities seriously.
Our team has over two decades of experience in mine engineering primarily in the space of tailings design, management, and mine closure. We further have over 5 years of experience leading a global innovation team to develop pioneering land reclamation technology for which corporate, provincial, and federal funding was secured.

Lois Boxill is a civil engineer who consults within Canada and internationally as a leading mine-site rehabilitation specialist working with Indigenous communities, mining companies, and mining regulators. Dr. Boxill builds and works with robust teams of diverse and talented individuals and specialists to address challenges at the nexus of resource extraction, people, society, and the environment.
Her combined experience as a researcher, technical consultant in mine closure and reclamation, and community conversation and collaboration make her uniquely qualified to steward processes anchored in respect, trust, and deep understanding of both the challenges and potential opportunities.
Olivia’s values of open-mindedness and adaptability bring her to work with the team at Mining Impact Specialists Ltd.
Having discovered her passion for utilizing data to analyze information during her studies of GIS at BCIT, Olivia finds a perfect alignment with the values and mission of Mining Impact Specialists Ltd. (MISL). She evaluates and identifies mitigation strategies for mine reclamation or project development through mapping and visualization. She focuses on the research and management of spatial data in data management, ensuring the quality and accuracy of information gathered from various sources.
Through ongoing exploration, her goal is to provide valuable insights that enhance MISL’s capabilities and values.
Caitlin’s values of social equity and community empowerment have led her to support Mining Impact Specialists Ltd. in the key administrative lead position.
Caitlin Dell comes to MISL with 12 years of experience in operations roles in the financial sector and chemical industries. She believes that smooth operations must continually evolve and that all perspectives are valuable in developing a streamlined approach to internal processes and practices.
